Marcus A. East
March 2, 1962-Dec. 25, 2008

HERMISTON - Marcus A. East, 46, of Hermiston died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2008, at his home. A private family burial was held at the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mr. East was born March 2, 1962, in Spokane to Thomas and Cora Esthers East. He was raised in Walla Walla and attended Walla Walla Community College, where he earned a bachelor's degree in nursing. He continued to live and work in Walla Walla for several years.

He married Ren Cherry in 1999 in Umatilla, and they lived in Irrigon for a time before moving to Hermiston. He worked as an administrator at Hermiston Care and Retirement.

He was a member of the Irrigon Moose Lodge, and enjoyed fishing, music, and gardening.

Mr. East is survived by his wife, Ren East of Hermiston; sons Daniel East, Jacob East, Marcus East, all of Walla Walla, and Karl Millard of Hermiston; daughter Michelle East of Hermiston; mother Cora Peterson of Umatilla; father Thomas East of Milton-Freewater; and sisters Deborah Martin and Cheryl Stone, both of Milton-Freewater.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Keith Peterson.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vange John Memorial Hospice at 1050 W. Elm St., Ste. 220, Hermiston, OR 97838.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
