WALLA WALLA, Wash. Alfreda Gail Seeda Gail Edwards died Sunday, Feb. 18, at Park Manor Rehabilitation Center in Walla Walla, Wash., at the age of 57.
She was born March 28, 1943, in St. Paul, Kan., to James Edward and Alfreda Mae (Moses) Harvill. She had been a long-time resident of Hermiston. Seeda graduated from Echo High School in 1961. She was an A student who enjoyed playing the trumpet in pep band and also received an art scholarship.
She married John Henry Edwards on Nov. 20, 1965, in Echo. They moved to Walla Walla, Wash., and she gave many hours of her time to the Walla Walla 4-H community. Seeda worked a full-time job along with homemaking and raising three children. She returned to Hermiston in 1988. She spent the last six years working for Goodwill Industries in Hermiston.
She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren, Jacqueline Ginter and Nevada Brekke. They spent many hours at yard sales and shopping. She loved to do charcoal sketches, many of which can be found in her familys homes.
She is survived by daughter and her husband, Shannon and Randy Ginter of Touchet, Wash.; daughter, DJ Edwards of Hermiston; son, Claro Edwards of Hermiston; brother and his wife, Gary and Sally Harvill of La Grande; sisters and their husbands, Amy and Bill Martin of Stanfield, and Delphi and Burt Buwalda of Oxbow; step-father and his wife, Carl and Jean Smith of Echo; sister-in-law and her husband, Jan and Jim Edwards of Walla Walla, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Jacqueline Ginter of Touchet, Wash., and Nevada Brekke of Hermiston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alfreda Harvill; husband, John Henry Edwards; and several aunts and uncles.
Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 22, at Echo Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edwards Family, in care of Shannon Ginter through Burns Mortuary of Hermiston, P.O. Box 289, Hermiston, 97838.
Burns Mortuary of Hermiston was in charge of the arrangements.
