KLAMATH FALLS Eugene Edward Housden, 81, died Feb. 16, of natural causes in Klamath Falls. Services will be held in Brewster, Wash., on a later date. Eternal Hills Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Housden was born Sept. 19, 1919, in Pateros, Wash., to Marcus and Mary (Spence) Housden. He graduated from high school in Pateros and served in the Army. He married Helen Edwards on June 1, 1957, in College Place, Wash.
In his early years, Mr. Housden was involved in farming near Brewster, Wash., and later was employed by the state game commission for 29 years, managing it in Hermiston from 1955 to 1961. He retired in 1981.
He loved fishing, gardening and the outdoors. He enjoyed spending holidays with his children and listening to all types of country and Western music. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Midland Grange No. 781.
He served for many years on the Midland Community Park board of directors, and served as president of the board for about 10 years. He volunteered many hours keeping the park grounds.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Housden of Midland; sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Linda Housden of Arizona, Jack and Kathy Housden of Laguna Beach, Calif., and Sam Housden of Arizona; daughter, Alice Cesarona of Cave Creek, Ariz.; sons and daughter-in-law, John Edwards of Klamath Falls, and Gary and Cindy Edwards of Hermiston; daughters and son-in-law, Viola and Del Christy of Pendleton, Linda Edwards of Klamath Falls and Helen (Verlee) Sagendorf of Washington; 20 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers.
