HERMISTON It is the same scene each year. Parents, with children in tow, walk into the school district kindergarten screening with one major question on their minds is my son or daughter really ready for this.
District officials designed the kindergarten screening, held recently at Desert View Elementary, to help answer some of those questions.
School representatives greeted the public when they arrived and directed them into the cafeteria for student screening. Each elementary school had a table set up with a few teachers on-hand to do the testing.
It was like one-stop shopping for parents. They had the chance to find out more information about immunizations, busing and school lunch programs. Representatives from each area staffed tables at the screening event.
