Pauline Elizabeth Shaver

DES MOINES, Wash. Pauline Elizabeth Weller Shaver died July 30 at Westly Home in Des Moines, Wash. at the age of 87.

Pauline was born on Sept. 26, 1919 in Yakima, Wash. to John T. and Laura Brower Weller. She was the youngest of four daughters. Pauline joined her sisters in their evangelistic ministry playing the trombone and piano. She attended the Stone Pentecostal Church in Yakima.

On Easter Sunday, April 15, 1942, Pauline married Lynn W. Shaver in Yakima at her father’s home. They then resided in Hermiston until Lynn was drafted into the Army and was sent to Europe for the duration of World War II. Pauline and daughter Linda lived in Yakima until Lynn returned. The family returned to Hermiston where they raised seven children. They farmed 40 acres on Airport Road and raised milk cows. They sold milk to the local creamery.

Lynn and Pauline were active members of the Stanfield Assembly of God, Hermiston Assembly of God and later Renton, Wash. Assembly of God churches. She loved the Lord and like the Gospel songs. They moved to Renton in 1966. Pauline worked for Bell Telephone Company until her retirement.

Pauline loved music flowers, crafts and pretty clothes. She had an interest in family photos and enjoyed looking at them from time to time.

She is survived by sons John of Hermiston; James of Lynnwood, Wash.; and Jeff of Federal Way, Wash.; daughters Linda Pratt and Ellen Ellenberger of Stanfield; Lillian Heath of Tulalip, Wash.; and Marilyn Shaver of Marysville, Wash.; 19 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 18 step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Pauline was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years on Oct. 28, 2002, parents and three sisters.

A graveside service was held on Friday, Aug. 3 at the Mt. Olievet Cemetery in Renton.
