James Henry Dunagan

James Henry Dunagan, 71, a former apartment manager, and employee of the U.S. Forest Service and Marlette Homes, died Friday June 6, 2008, at a Portland hospital.
His graveside funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Mr. Dunagan was born March 1, 1937, in Pendleton to Burchel and Nellie Slaughter Dunagan. He married his wife, Sally, June 22, 1956, in Heppner.
He worked for the U.S. Forest Service in Ukiah from 1960 to 1968, when he moved to Hermiston and worked at Marlette Homes until 1987. He later worked as an apartment manager until 2002.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and mountain drives with his brothers and was an excellent handyman.
He is survived by his wife, Sally, of Hermiston; a son, Robert Dunagan of Seattle; three daughters, Sheryl Daugherty of Vail, Ariz.; Vicki Roff of Milton-Freewater; and Lori Carlos of Pilot Rock; a brother, Joe Dunagan of Pendleton; and sisters Jacquelyn Hood of Hermiston and Patricia Frost of Salem; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Geraldine Swanson; two brothers, Leroy Dunagan and Michael Dunagan.
Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of arrangements.
