Elmo Cecelia Bloom

Elmo Cecelia Bloom, 91, of Hermiston died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at the Regency Hermiston Nursing Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 14 at the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mrs. Bloom was born July 23, 1916, in Salina, Kan., to Elmer and Mabel Crowther Price. She was a resident of Hermiston in the Westland area since 1942. She was very active in CAPECO, the Hermiston Neighborhood Center, and the Senior Meals programs. She volunteered and helped many groups and organizations.

Survivors include sons Ed Bloom of Meacham, Charles Whaley of Bella Coola, B.C., Canada, James Whaley of Lewiston, Idaho, Don Bloom of St. Helens, Sam Bloom, Elmer Bloom and Harry Bloom, all of Ely, Nev., Alan Bloom of Round Mountain, Nev., and Bill Bloom of Hermiston; daughter Barbara Workman of Hermiston; sister Julia Thompson of Auburn, Wash.; 28 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar S. Bloom, and daughters Ida S. Martin and Karen L. Girton.
