In Echo, the Cougars (2-1, 1-0 Big Sky Conference) opened league play with a volleyball win over Ione (0-2, 0-1 BSC) 25-15, 12-25, 25-22, 25-19.

Kirsten McCallum led the match with six kills and three blocks for the Cougars while Mariah McQuowan led them with 11 assists and Elizabeth Ferge added four kills.

After a convincing win in the opener, Echo coach Candice Valentine said her girls played like a different team in Game 2.
