Annette (Ramirez) Quick, a former employee of Umatilla Electric Co-op and more recently a teacher’s aide at Desert View Elementary, died Sept. 19, 2008.

Viewing and recitation of the Rosary will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Burns Mortuary Chapel in Hermiston. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday Sept. 26, 2008, at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mrs. Quick was born Jan. 12, 1960, in Sidney, Neb., to Frank D. and Romana (Hernandez) Ramirez, the fourth of the five children. She moved to Hermiston in 1964 and graduated from Hermiston High School in 1978. She married Bert Quick Aug. 16, 1980. She and was a member of Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church.

After her poor health prevented from working, she volunteered for many school and community organizations, such as the band club, Cub Scouts, and the Father-Daughter Ball. She was active in all her children’s activities. Her life revolved around her children.

Recently, she was employed part time as a teaching aide in the Hermiston School District, particularly helping at Desert View Elementary School. She enjoyed cooking and was best known for her homemade rolls and scalloped potatoes at family holiday dinners.

Mrs. Quick had compassion for all people and animals and was always there to help if needed. She was a fun-loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. She had a hearty laugh and added spice and laughter to those around her.

She was a TrailBlazer fan and enjoyed vacations at Disneyland, Silverwood and the Oregon coast.

Survivors include her sons, Erik and Nick; daughter Hanna; parents, Frank and Romana Ramirez, all of Hermiston; brother and sisters, Frank and Kathy Ramirez of Hillsboro; Joan and John Rawson of Boring; Marian and John Ellwanger, Umatilla; Tom and Michelle Ramirez of Hermiston; 17 nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the local chapter of Girl Scouts.
