In Umatilla, the Vikings sewed up the No. 2 spot in the Eastern Oregon League with the win over the Hilanders Friday.
Quarterback Steven Williams led the attack for the Vikings (8-1, 4-1 EOL), passing for 239 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 122 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
Williams tossed an 82-yarder to Kasey Pankey and a 10-yard strike to Lee Bursell early in the second quarter. When Collin McIntire broke away for a 65-yard scoring run, the Vikes led 26-6.
Derek Baker added to touchdown runs for the Vikings.
“Burns fought to the end,” Umatilla coach Kelly Allen said. “We didn’t play to the best of our ability but the boys played hard.”
Umatilla will host Colton in the first round of the playoffs.
