Rafeal S. Montez died on Sunday June 14, 2009 at the Rocking D Ranch in Hermiston at the age of 59 years.

Rafeal was born at Raymondville, Texas on May 5, 1950 to parents Lorenzo and Rosa Sital Montez.

Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday June 17, 2009 at the Burns Mortuary Chapel. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday June 18, 2009 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston. Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston,

Rafeal was a resident of Hermiston the past 29 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo Montez and Rosa Sital and brothers Ernesto Montez and Hector Montez.

Rafeal is survived by sons Jamie Montez, McClen Montez and Darrell Montez; daughters Maria Elena Montez; brothers, Luis Lorenzo Montez, Catarino Antonio Montez, Manuel Montez and Demuir Montez;. sisters Rosa Rodriguez, Minerva Montez Searles, Angelita Montez, Janie Gibson, Bertha Gonzalez, and Dolores M. Veliz; 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in care of arrangements.
