Beginning this September, the Children’s Museum of Eastern Oregon will launch “Terrifically Free Tuesdays” as part of the museum’s Open Doors program. Admission will be free the first Tuesday of every month.
“We are ‘opening our doors’ to those in our community that normally would not be able to access the museum,” said CMEO Executive Director Jill Gregg. “Everyone in our community should be able to enjoy the benefits of the Children’s Museum.”
As part of the museum’s Open Doors program, CMEO hopes to see more families utilize the fun exhibits and learning opportunities the museum offers.
With interactive exhibits, fun games, and educational programs, CMEO is a great and safe place for children and families to experience positive play and interaction with each other.
In addition to “Terrifically Free Tuesdays,” CMEO has donated 30 free family memberships to low-income and at-risk families at the Pioneer Relief Nursery as part of the Open Doors program.
Families in the greatest need of a safe place for their children are now able to participate in the museum’s programs and activities regardless of their financial abilities. By opening their doors to those in high risk, unsafe situations, CMEO is expanding their positive impact of educational and interactive play to the greater community.
CMEO is currently seeking further funding to provide other organizations in our community that provide services to low-income, high risk children and families with free family memberships through the Open Doors program.
“We hope to grow the Open Doors program so everyone can enjoy the Children’s Museum of Eastern Oregon,” said Gregg.
