Carl W. Nelson died on June 25, 2010 at his home in hermiston, Oregon at the age of 67 years. Carl lived the majority of his life in Hermiston.

He was born on Jan. 14, 1943 in Stanfield, Oregon to parents, Herbert and Tillie Orth Nelson.

He was a very skilled bricklayer, working for Alleman Construction, Bondurant Construction, and the last part of his career he was self-employed.

Mr. Nelson was united in marriage to Vickie Blurton on October 24, 1977 in Winnemucca, Nevada. He enjoyed fishing, playing pool, and wood cutting, although his favorite place to be was working on his land, caring for his animals, and having his family and friends around him.

He is survived by his wife: Vickie Nelson, Hermiston; daughters: Natalie Van Cleave and husband Rick, Clarkston, Wash., Letha Brown and husband Donnie, Lewiston, Idaho, Kim Werner, Meridean, Idaho; brother: Rick L. Nelson, Portland; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Herb.

A celebration potluck gathering will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the family home.
