Harold G. “Bud” Hess Jr., 64, of Umatilla died Thursday, July 22, 2010, at his home. A celebration gathering will be held later at an undetermined date and place.

Mr. Hess was born Nov. 7, 1945, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Harold G. Sr. and Nellie Gordon Hess. He was raised and attended school in California.

He worked as a contractor, installing flooring for many years. He lived in Umatilla for the last five years, and previously had lived in Idaho for five years.

Mr. Hess is survived by sons Harold G. Hess III, Brent L. Hess and David A. Crawford; daughter Deanna E. Hess; brother Donovan Hess; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Kyra J. Hess.
