Betty Jean Capper, 82, of Hermiston died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at the Rocking D Ranch in Hermiston.
Mrs. Capper was born Feb. 22, 1928, to Jack and Anna (Mohrland) Dickenson. She married Oscar Ken Capper in 1945 in Yuma, Ariz.
They lived in Umatilla for a time then moved to Hermiston and lived in Hermiston for many years. The Cappers, along with good friends, started the Hat Rock Store and campground, where they lived for several years.
Survivors include sons Dan Capper of Caldwell, Idaho, and Ron Capper of Pendleton; daughter Diana Capper of Leavenworth, Wash.; brother Dean Dickenson; sister Mary Jean Daggett; six grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Capper, in February 2010.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17 at the Hermiston Cemetery.
