BURLEY, Idaho Leonela Moreno Calderon, 12, of Hermiston died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley, Idaho, as the result of an automobile accident. Rosary was held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, followed by funeral mass at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Hermiston. A private family burial was conducted at the Hermiston Cemetery.
Leonela was born Aug. 26, 1998, in Hermiston to Roberto Moreno and Digna Calderon Moreno. She attended Highland Hills Elementary from kindergarten through third grade. She then attended Sunset Elementary for fourth and fifth grade, where she was a member of the Leadership Team. She was a seventh grader at Sandstone Middle School, where she played volleyball. She played on the AYSO Select Hermiston Heat Soccer Team and enjoyed music, watching scary movies, school and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her parents, Roberto and Digna C. Moreno of Hermiston; sisters Citlalli Rome, Digna E. Moreno and Rosalilia Moreno, all of Hermiston; brother Roberto C. Moreno of Hermiston; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
