Linda Lee Blankenship, 70, of Hermiston died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston. At her request, no services will be held. Disposition was by cremation. Burial of cremains will take place at Belcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Salem with her twin sister at a later date.
Ms. Blankenship was born Dec. 16, 1940, in Great Falls, Mont., to Gilbert and Eileen Blankenship. Her family moved to Ritzville, Wash., in 1942 for 6 months and then to Salem, where she was raised and graduated from North Salem High School in 1959.
She worked at the Catholic Church Rectory in Salem for many years. She then worked at Salem General Hospital until suffering a stroke in 1998, and moved to Hermiston in 1999. She lived at Rose Arbor for the final years of her life.
Ms. Blankenship is survived by brother Don Blankenship of Hermiston, and sisters Sabra Emerson of Red Bluff, Calif., Jenifer DeSouza of San Diego, Calif., and Jane Borg of San Francisco, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert and Eileen Blankenship; brother Jay S. Blankenship; and sisters, Wilda Blankenship (her twin sister) and Julie Garre.
