Summer hits full-speed ahead

The first full weekend of summer arrived in fine fashion Saturday.

1.  Relay for Life Grand Marshals Mary Hensal and Nancy Brown lead fellow cancer survivors and their caregivers in a lap recognizing their fight for survival Friday evening at the Umatilla County Fairgrounds. The event raised approximately $76,000.

2. Cancer survivors and caregivers march together, beginning the Relay for Life event on Friday evening at the Umatilla County Fairgrounds.

3. Hundreds of people gathered for the Relay for Life in Hermiston, which raised approximately $76,000.

4. One of many decorated paper bags lining the track at the Umatilla County Fairgrounds on Friday in remembrance of those who faught cancer.

5. The Hermiston High School Key Club was one of 40 groups to participate in the Relay for Life event Friday and Saturday in Hermiston.

6. Denise Arnold  displays her crafts to customers at Hermiston’s Saturday Farmers Market.
