July 20, 1961: Rev. Jackson arrive to take over parish: Rev Chandler Jackson arrived from Riverside, Calif., to take over duties at the Episcopalian Church.
July 15, 1981: Infant Takes Plunge: 5-month-old Catherina Colley took swimming lessons for 20 minutes each morning, making her the youngest student of the summer. She was lead through a daily routine of floating on her stomach, kicking her feet and blowing bubbles.
July 17, 2001: City, PacificCorp agree on price: Hermiston City Council signed the papers to purchase PacificCorp’s utility distribution system for $8 million. The electrical facilities would allow them to serve Hermiston.
July 17, 2010: A new building was erected to house Parks and Recreation equipment. The 6,000 square-foot structure would house things previously stored in spaces around town.
