Kamm second in girls rookie all-around race

Stanfield cowgirl Kaci Kamm earned a second-palce finish in the rookie all-around standings July 18-23 at the National High School Finals Rodeo in Gillette, Wyo.
Kamm, a freshman at Stanfield Secondary School and member of the Intermountain Rodeo Team, placed 13th overall in the barrel racing average with a time of 53.201 seconds.
She also placed 22nd in the cutting average with 416 points to amass her 320 all-around points.
Hermiston High Schools Callahan Crossley held the overall lead in barrel racing for a brief period and ended up in sixth overall. She finish fourth in the short-go Saturday night and her time in the average was 52.579.
Heppners Blake Greenup earned 48th place in the pole bending event with an aggregate time of 42.737 and fellow Heppner student Taighler Dougherty was 95th with a 47.555.
For the cowboys, Hermistons Fabian Scotto placed 25th overall in the steer wrestling average with a 15.88 on two head of steer.
Stanfields Koty Kamm, Kacis older brother, placed 44th in the average in cutting with 401 points.
Devin Robinson of Heppner palced 28th in the tie-down roping average with a time of 28.94.
Overall, Team Oregon placed 17th with 2,427 points. The girls scored 1,080 points for 15th place and the boys score 1,347, also good for 15th.
