<p>Mary Anita Ellis</p>

Mary Anita Long Swingle Ellis, 95, died Sunday, July 24, 2011, in Hermiston. Funeral services were held Friday, July 29 at 10 a.m. at the Burns Mortuary chapel in Hermiston. Burial followed in the Hermiston Cemetery.

Mrs. Ellis was born March 22, 1916, along with twin brother Albert in Blanchard, Iowa, the third of seven children. She married Beryl Swingle in 1933; he died in an auto accident in 1934. She was left with a baby girl, Lillian.

In 1938 she married Ray Ellis. They traveled with the Rural Electrification project all over the western states.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by son Robert Ellis; four grandchildren; great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by parents Marcena Jay Long and Mary Escamilla Long; siblings Henry Francisco, Lucy Lee, Albert Jay, Lois Evelyn, Lester Arthur and Velma Rose; husbands Beryl Swingle and Ray Ellis; and daughters Lillian and Stephanie.
