Dan Klug, from White Hart Forge in Portland, is presenting the workshop. The program is suitable for beginners or for novice blacksmiths seeking to improve skills and techniques in metal-working. Klug has researched historic techniques and designs in-depth, and has made replicas of historic pieces dating back to ancient Nordic times as well as American frontier times.

In addition to offering workshops and creating historic reproduction pieces, his forge also produces a range of modern custom architectural components. Workshop participants will be able to learn techniques that apply to more modern projects.

Pre-registration is required, and a fee of $150 covers all supplies and equipment. The workshop runs from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. each day, and is entirely hands-on, with plenty of guided practice. Call 541-523-1843 for more information or to register.
