Flemmer awarded for work in classroom, on track

Former Stanfield Tiger standout athlete Jason Flemmer
was named to the NCAA Division I mens all-Academic track team by
the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Countrry Coaches
Association.
Flemmer earned a 3.26 cumulative grade point average
last spring and made the regional field for the javelin at the
University of Montana for the second consecutive year. He is a
sociology major.
He has won back-to-back Big Sky Conference javelin
championships in 2010 and 2011 and placed 18th at the West
Regionals this year, held at historic Hayward Field in Eugene.
420 male student-athletes from across the nation were
named to the all-Academic team, which requires an athlete to
maintain above a 3.25 GPA and qualify for an event at the regional
level.
