AUGUST 11

Chelsey Ann Magoteaux, 22, was arrested for permitting the false use of a license after a Pheasant Cafe staff reported two juvenile females using fake identifications.

A South First Street man reported being punched in the face, but did not want to press charges.

A Hermiston woman called police to report her 16-year-old step-daughter was pregnant by a 19-year-old boy. She wanted information about legal options.

An anonymous caller reported spotting a taxi driver talking on a cell phone while driving.

A West Progress Road woman reported her purse, wallet and iPod were taken from her vehicle.

AUGUST 12

A Umatilla man reported suspicious behavior after witnessing 10 people jump into a green 1992 Ford Tempo, and two more get into the trunk of the car that then headed west on West Orchard Avenue.

A West Jennie Avenue man reported someone broke into a storage shed and stole a leaf blower.

A retired Oregon State Trooper called the Hermiston Police Department to report people exchanging a small package near his home. He thought the police would be interested to know the activity has been going on for a week or more.

M&R Footwear employees reported a shoplifter with items down his pants.

An Alora Drive woman reported her house was egged and possibly golf-balled.

A McNary resident reported that she caught a thief in the act of stealing her van, and chased the culprit, and her van, down the street. She was not able to catch up.

A Hermiston man called police with questions about his married friend kissing a 15-year-old girl.

Hermiston citizens reported a fight in the Walmart parking lot.

AUGUST 13

A motorist reported an older Ford Bronco on fire on Interstate 82 near Westland Road.

A woman reported her ex-boyfriend would not return money he stole from her wallet.

Derick Levi Martinez was arrested on failure to appear warrants after a Hermiston man reported Martinez attempted to trade a push mower for cigarettes.

 

AUGUST 14

A Umatilla man reported two people attempted to break into his vehicle.

A Hermiston woman reported spotting a man and woman kick down her grandmother’s door and attempt to steal a mattress.

A West Hermiston Avenue resident reported two girls and one guy grabbed a for-sale sign in front of a vacant house and threw it into the street.

A husband and wife reported hearing someone walking up the stairs in their home. They believed their house was broken into, and wanted officers to respond.

A Hermiston woman reported someone stole her television, but she believed she knows who.

A Hermiston man reported his neighbor told him a male subject has been sneaking into his daughter’s window at night.

A Portland man reported his duffle bag was taken from Oak Tree Inn. The man estimated the personal items in the bag were worth close to $400.

A Hermiston man reported two girls fighting over a child.

A Hermiston man reported a woman threw soda at him, then hit him in the face three times.

A woman called police to report a juvenile shot her child with a BB gun.

A Northwest 10th Street man reported someone tried several times to break into his home while his daughter was home alone.
