Pendleton Grain Growers will stay in Hermiston, thanks to a permanent variance granted by the City of Hermiston that will allow the agriculture supply outlet to store fencing material outdoors within city limits.

Earlier this year PGG considered moving their store out of town to a location on Feedville Road because the Union Pacific Railroad raised rent on a piece of land PGG leased to store fencing material. 

Instead, a local landowner offered a portion of the former Reddaway Trucking terminal for outdoor storage, pending approval by the Hermiston  City Council.

The planning commission granted the permanent variance for outdoor storage Aug. 10 during a regular planning commission meeting.
