Hospital district donates $38,000 worth
of equipment to Umatilla Fire District
The Umatilla Hospital District is donating more than $38,000 worth of equipment to the Umatilla Fire District.
The equipment includes a heart monitor, and two automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) and an autopulse. A heart monitor is used to monitor and interpret heart rhythms, and AEDs are used for patients in time of cardiac arrest. An autopulse is a machine used to deliver chest compressions during cardiac arrest, doubling effectiveness of CPR and increasing survival rates. Autopulse also relieves a caregiver from performing chest compressions so they can conduct other critical activities.
Fire Chief Mike Roxbury said the Umatilla Fire District and the Umatilla Hospital District have a long history of partnership.
We are excited to renew and continue this partnership,” he said, “and demonstrate to the stakeholders that we (Fire and Hospital Districts) are continuing to be innovative during these difficult economic times.
