Randy Lee Phillips, 47, of Heppner died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at Regency Hermiston Nursing Facility in Hermiston. A memorial gathering will be held Saturday, Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. at the OHV Park in Heppner. Disposition was by cremation. Burial of cremains will take place in Meridian, Idaho, at a later date.
Mr. Phillips was born Feb. 8, 1964, in Bulls Gap, Tenn., to Billy Jack and Mary Francis (Lowery) Phillips. He attended grade school in Tennessee until the family moved to Parma, Idaho, where he graduated high school.
In 1985 he married Janella R. Townsend in Nyssa; they later divorced. In 1989 he moved to Hermiston and worked at Pioneer Implement Company. In 2008 he moved to Heppner and worked at the Willow Creek Golf Course.
Mr. Phillips is survived by son Lucas Phillips of Hermiston; daughter Kristy Phillips of Hermiston; mother Mary Francis Lowery of Ontario; brothers Chris Phillips of Meridian, Idaho, John Phillips of Eagle, Idaho, and Benji Phillips of Parma, Idaho; and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Jack Phillips.
