Governor’s office rep visits Umatilla schools

- <p></p><p>Ben Cannon, education policy advisor to Gov. Kitzhaber, talks with fourth-graders during a tour of McNary Heights Elementary on Monday afternoon. Cannon visited each of Umatilla School District’s three schools as part of his “listening tour.” Umatilla was selected as an innovative and successful district. Cannon has also visited Salem-Keizer, Woodburn and Bend-La Pine schools, as well as Portland’s Roosevelt High School and Clackamas Middle College in North Clackamas School District. He will also visit schools in Cottage Grove and Tillamook on the tour. See Saturday’s Herald for coverage of the event.</p>
