William Bill Louis Mespelt passed away on February 9th, 2012, after a brave battle with cancer.
Bill was born on August 1st, 1954, in Baker City, Oregon, to James and Ethel Mespelt. He grew up in the Willamette Valley, attended school in and around Brownsville, Oregon.
On May 1st, 1982, he married Glenda Gay Aichele. Bill was a jockey, working practice race horses all over the Northwest. He also was a bullrider, team and calf roper and worked various jobs before owning and operating Remuda Horse Trailers for the last 20 years.
He was an accomplished wood and metal artist and his work graces the homes of family and friends, as well as innumerable donations and fundraisers. Bill was beloved by everyone who met him, always volunteering to help anyone who needed it. He drove thousands of miles, taking his kids to junior and high school rodeos all over the western states, and has fans of all ages.
He is survived by his wife, Glenda; son Evan and daughter-in-law Jennifer; daughter Lacy Mespelt and Darrell Diefenbach; sisters Debbie and Tim Zeller, Sandy and Larry Epperly and Jean Schofield; brothers-in-law Allen and Maggie Aichele and Vic and Terryl Aichele; numerous nieces, nephew and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rob Mespelt and brother Paul Mespelt.
A celebration of life was held Sunday, February 12th, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the old Circle C Farms, Barn 1, 2995 S. Feedville, Hermiston, Ore.
Burns Mortuary of Hermiston is in charge of the arrangements.
