Edward Victor Patton, age 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 8, 2012, in Hermiston.
Ed was born on May 30, 1932, in Pasco Washington, to Richard and Dorothy Patton. After graduating from Wallula High School, he joined the Navy and served 4 years active duty, proceeded by 4 years in the Reserves.
On May 25, 1958, he married his wife Mardean R. Tachell in Kellogg, Idaho.
He lived on lower Willow Creek with his family and worked for Hynds Brothers Ranches and then Krebs Brothers until illness forced him to retire in 1994.
Ed enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, camping and travelling with his wife. In his later years Ed enjoyed arrowhead knapping and created beautiful keepsakes for his friends and family.
Survivors include his loving wife Mardean Patton, sister Donna Winson of Seattle, daughters Debbie Aylett of Irrigon, Brenda Coombs of Hermiston, and sons Mark Patton of Ione and Tim Patton of Ione. He had 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and his beloved shih-tzu Dog-dog.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Stella Crawford and Esther Dixon.
Graveside services will be held at the Ione cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 26th, with a celebration of life following at Ione American Legion Hall. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
