<p>Vicente Escalante of Echo portrays Jesus Christ and carries the cross as Vincent Trevino, who portrays the head Roman soldier looks ahead. Crowds of people met across from Lady of Angels Catholic Church Friday to watch the 12 stations of the cross, which included a walk up the Hermiston Butte, where the crucifixion was reenacted.</p>

Actors took part Friday in the annual Stations of the Cross re-enactment in Hermiston. The event drew crowds along the route from West Hermiston Avenue to Hermiston Butte. Vicente Escalante of Echo portrayed Jesus while Vincent Trevino portrayed the lead Roman centurion.
