Morrow County School District Superintendent Dirk Dirksen said the entire student body, about 330 students in grades 7-12, has been evacuated to nearby Irrigon Elementary School.

“The police are on scene and are doing a thorough investigation,” Dirksen said. “They’re taking the threat seriously to find whether there is a device that could explode in the high school.”

Dirksen said he was notified of the situation by police who were already on scene at 1 p.m. The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of the investigation.

“We’re just taking every precaution,” Dirksen said. “We’ll be running our normal busses at the normal time, but kids will be picked up from Irrigon Elementary School.”
