Eagle Summit Orthopedics & Sports Medicine has moved.

Monday, the Hermiston business opened in its new location, Suite E19 at Good Shepherd Medical Center. The clinic has been located as part of Motion Orthopedics for about three years, and Jerry Crum, M.D., said it was time for the business to step out on its own.

We really appreciate everything Motion Orthopedics has done for us, but going out on my own, I can expand my hours, hopefully expand the business, Crum said Wednesday. Crum came to Hermiston four years ago. A native of Portland, Crum served 24 years in the military but said he wanted to return to Oregon when he retired.

After working in Missouri for seven years, he moved one step closer to Oregon by opening an office in Susanville, Calif. where the name Eagle Summit was born, combining Crums love of eagles and the high mountain elevation of the California city.

Four years later, Crum finally returned to Oregon.

It had been 35 years since Id lived in Oregon, he said. I was glad to be back.

Crum has carried the name of his business and a variety of eagle artwork to the new location. Eagle Summit offers general orthopedics services, including trauma, joint replacement and pediatric orthopedics. Crum said the most common services involve knee and shoulder injuries.

Eagle Summit is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays as well as 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every other Saturday.
