Umatilla County Fair announces 2013 theme, opens logo contest

Thursday, the Umatilla County Fair Board announced the theme for the 2013 county fair: Rides, Ribbons and Rodeos.

With that theme, the fair board has also opened the contest to design the logo for the 2013 Umatilla County Fair.
The logo must follow the theme and will appear on fair publications, posters, badges and other materials.
Open to the public, the contest is aimed at attracting as many submissions as possible. The Umatilla County Fair Board will select the top entry from each division. The divisions are as follows: grade school (K -5), middle school (6-8), high school (9- 12) and adult. The top entry in each division will receive an invitation to the UCF Volunteer Appreciation Dinner held in February 2013 where their entries will be on display for the audience to vote for the winning logo. In addition to countywide recognition, the winner will receive two reserved seating tickets to the concert of his or her choice and two adult day passes.

Artists and fair enthusiasts of all ages are welcome to enter the logo contest, which ends at 5 p.m. Jan. 25, 2013. Logo entries must be able to be cleanly reproduced at a smaller size. Drawn or sketched logo entries need to be in dark ink on white paper.
All logo contest submissions need to be at the UCF office by the deadline to be considered. Entries may be dropped off at the fair office, 515 W. Orchard Ave., Hermiston, mailed to PO Box 94, Hermiston OR 97838 or emailed to fair@umatillacounty.net.
