The Columbia River Certified Personal Accounting Services had its grand opening on Wednesday.

Members of the community and Chamber of Commerce turned out to the event to cut the ribbon signaling that the business was now open to the public.

Heading the business is Kathryn Erz, a certified personal accountant.

She said she has held a private accounting business through her home in Hermiston since 2007. The space eventually became too small as she shared a desk at the time with her daughter, Stacey Stanek, who is currently working to take her CPA test very soon.

You need the visibility of the building, she said. You can only take your business so far from inside your house.

Erz said they moved into the new building located at 389 W Hermiston Ave in February and have been doing very well. They have about 15 clients and foresee themselves growing exponentially within the next couple of years.

Erz said they offer assisance with taxes, payroll, bookkeeping and more.
