Charissa Gates and Jim Newman of Pendleton are happy to announce their upcoming marriage. The couple plan to unite their families in an outdoor wedding ceremony at Ione City Park on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 11:00 a.m.

Over the past 12 years, Charissa and Jim have built a strong family foundation. Their plans to marry will solidify their commitment to each other and to their children. Emily (16), Christopher (15), Sierra (8), and Xander (5) are very excited to get married and will participate in the ceremony.

Charissa is a 2001 graduate of Ione High School. She is currently enrolled in the BMCC/OHSU nursing program. She was accepted into the program while working at Blue Mt. Recovery Center, which closed in March of this year. Her parents are Tom and Arlynda Gates of Ione.

Jim graduated from Mt. Hood Community College with his General Education Degree in 1995. He is currently a purchasing manager at Keystone RV, LLC. He is also a volunteer for Pendleton Cattle Barons Association. His mother, Karen Newman, resides in Phoenix, Arizon.

The happy couple wish to invite family and friends to share their special day with them and ask that you Save the Date on your calendars. A formal invitation will appear in the area newspapers closer to the wedding date
