Umatilla man injured in bike crash

A motorcyclist was injured Thursday afternoon after colliding with another vehicle at the corner of Highway 207 and East Walls Road in Hermiston.

Boyd Thomas, 63, of Umatilla, suffered a broken kneecap and dislocated ankle in the crash. He remained conscious while being treated by first responders and was taken by ambulance to Good Shepherd Medical Center.

Thomas was traveling northbound on Highway 207 also Diagonal Road when the driver of a Volkswagen Passat pulled out in front of him while attempting to make a left turn from East Walls Road.

The driver, identified as 59-year-old Olga Marina, of Hermiston, was cited for driving without a license and failing to obey a stop sign. She sustained damage to the front end of her car, but was not hurt.

Traffic was temporarily stalled on Diagonal, Edwards and Walls roads until OSP could clear the scene.
