Fred and Verla Thompson of Stanfield are celebrating 60 years of marriage.

Fred is a retired ammunition inspector for the Umatilla Army Depot. Verla is a retired school secretary.

The couple celebrated the special day with their daughter, Linda Thompson of Pendleton, and their granddaughter.
