Emily Katherine Rietmann of Ione and Alexander Michael Hawman of Hermiston are announcing their engagement. Emily is the daughter of Joe and Donna Reitmann of Ione. Alexander is the son of Mike and Diane Hawman of Hermiston.

Emily is a 2008 graduate of Ione High School, and a 2012 graduate of Washington State University. She will graduate from Lewis and Clark Law School in May 2015.

Alexander graduated from Hermiston High School in 2007, and from Oregon State University in 2011. He is employed with Hawman Farms.

The couple will exchange wedding vows Jan. 3, 2015, in Ione.
