Deborah L. “Debbie” Young, of Hermiston, Oregon, was born on August 22, 1960, in Cocoa Beach, Florida, to parents Harold and Astrid Carlson Cook. She went to heaven on December 28, 2014, in Richland, Washington, at the age of 54 years.

Debbie graduated from Long Beach Poly High School in Long Beach, California. She attended college in California for a time before moving to Hermiston, Oregon, in 1988 where she raised her beautiful family. Debbie worked at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Hermiston, Oregon, for 13 years in environmental services as a Technician II. She enjoyed homemaking, spending time with her grandchildren, family vacations, camping, fishing, boating, going on walks with her family, and yard saling.

She is survived by her spouse, Mark Fisher, daughter Melissa Young and sons Kristopher and Michael Fisher, all of Hermiston, Ore.; sister Brenda Verwey (Brian Verwey Sr.), Hermiston, Ore.; brother James Cook, Atlanta, Ga.; nephews Brian Jr, Thomas and Kevin Verwey; niece Kimberly Verwey; and grandchildren Noah Weatherford II, Samantha Young, Averi Fisher and Michael Harold Fisher II.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, brother Randy Cook, nephews Kenny and Derick Verwey and first husband Ronald Young.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Burns Mortuary chapel, Hermiston, Oregon.

Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon
