Eastern Oregon Family Taekwondo cleans up at tourney

Eastern Oregon Family Taekwondo of Stanfield took home a number of honors last month from the 7th Annual Battle on the Columbia at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, Washington and hosted by Chon Ji Martial Arts of Richland, Washington.

EOTF students placed in 20 disciplines from forms to sparring to stick sparring with Vladimir Caldera being named the Grand Champion of forms in the adult class.

The next tournament for Eastern Oregon Family Taekwondo is Oct. 24 at the Governor’s Cup in Lacey, Washington. EOTF is hosting two free Stranger Danger classes on Sept. 15 and 22.

Other winners were as follows:

7 and under white belts:

4-year-old Levi Hocker: Participation medal.

7 year-old Sukhprit Kaur: 1st in forms, 1st in stick sparring.

7-year-old Arron Sanchez: 1st in forms, 1st in sparring, 3rd in stick sparring.

8-10-year-old novice:

Miseal Sanchez: 3rd in sparring.

Osvaldo Sanchez: 1st in sparring.

Joseph Medina: 3rd in forms.

8-10-year-old advanced:

J.P. Phillips: 3rd in stick sparring.

Luis Ibarra: 3rd in forms, 2nd in sparring, 3rd in stick sparring.

13-14-year-old novice:

Jaxon Cook: Participation medal.

Mario Sanchez: 2nd in forms, 3rd in sparring.

Rene Sanchez: 3rd in forms, 3rd in stock sparring.

Natividad Sanchez: 1st in forms, 1st in sparring.

Adults:

Vladimir Caldera: 1st in forms, 1st in sparring, 2nd in stick sparring, Grand Champion in forms.

Melissa Shilhonic: Participation medal.
