VETERANS CELEBRATION, 10 a.m., Echo Schools, 600 Gerone St. A parade escorted by police, fire and military personnel will wind from the school through downtown Echo and back, followed by a school assembly at 1 p.m. honoring local veterans. Public welcome. (541-376-8436).
VETERAN’S DAY ASSEMBLY, 10 a.m., Heppner High School, 710 Morgan St. Guest speaker is Rep. Greg Smith. Local veterans will be honored, and the public is welcome to attend the ceremony. “DEADLY MEDICINE: CREATING THE MASTER RACE” EXHIBIT OPENING, 10 a.m., Tamastslikt Cultural Institute, 47106 Wildhorse Blvd., Pendleton. The Holocaust Memorial Museum’s traveling exhibition will be on display through Jan. 7, 2017. Examines how the Nazi leadership, in collaboration with individuals in professions traditionally charged with healing and the public good, used science to help legitimize persecution, murder and, ultimately, genocide.
