Magnuson

LaNora E. Magnuson of Vale, Oregon, former Hermiston resident, was born on April 15, 1942, in Boise, Idaho, to parents Ray and Evelyn Shockey. She died on November 18, 2017, in Vale, Oregon, at the age of 75 years.

LaNora was raised and attended schools in Idaho. She was united in marriage to Marion “Richard” Magnuson and they moved back and forth between northern Idaho and the Hermiston-Umatilla, Oregon, area for many years. After Richard passed away she lived in Wallowa County and later La Grande, Oregon, before moving to Vale where she has lived for the last three years.

LaNora enjoyed horseback riding, crocheting, traveling, flowers, playing board games and games outside with her children.

She is survived by her sons Mark Magnuson (Deon), Mike Magnuson and Scott Magnuson (Silvia), all of Hermiston, Ore.; daughter Karen Magnuson, Clarksville, Tenn.; brother Ken Shockey, Boise, Idaho; sisters Darlene Sprague, Meridian, Idaho, and Linda Kahn, Eagle, Idaho; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her parents; a sister, Lorraine Johnson; and brother Andrew Shockey.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017, at 1:00 p.m at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
