Real estate report shows Hermiston trends

A report from John L. Scott Real Estate shows Hermiston remains a seller’s market when it comes to homes.

The Mid-Year Real Estate Review covers housing numbers in April through September of 2020 for the Columbia Basin region, including a section on Hermiston.

During the six-month period, a high of 65 homes sold in Hermiston in July and a low of 33 in May. The area also had a high of 89 homes on the market in Hermiston in May, compared with a low of 41 up for sale in August.

The average sold price of homes has decreased slightly since the spring, the report stated, from $268,000 in April to $252,000 in September. The average price per square foot of homes sold was $158 in April and $153 in September.

According to the report, the average number of days homes stayed on the market in Hermiston during the six-month period fluctuated from a high of 52 days in July to a low of 30 days in May.
