The Umatilla Electric Cooperative Business Resource Center on Tuesday, Sept. 14, announced the hire of Diana Cobian to provide Spanish translation services for business owners and entrepreneurs.

Cobian, a sophomore at Eastern Oregon University, La Grande, said in the press release she knows what it’s like not to be able to understand what is being said, and she is pleased to be able to help entrepreneurs with their business needs.

“This is a great opportunity,” she said, “and I am looking forward to learning many new things.”

Greg Smith, BRC executive advisor, said the center strives to provide the highest level of service for its clients and having someone who can interpret and translate for Spanish speaking entrepreneurs will be key in helping them with their business endeavors.

Likewise, Kristin Connell, lead business advisor, said she was excited to have Cobian “as part of our team to partner in bridging the communication gap with our Spanish speaking clientele.”

Cobian’s services are available now and anyone needing free and confidential business advising services can call 541-289-3000 or email uecbrc@gmail.com. The office is at 1475 N. First St., Hermiston.
