How’s the summer been treating you? Locally, there has been lots of news, and we’ve been covering it at the Hermiston Herald.

Help coming to Morrow County

Morrow County states it has the resources to bring water and filters to up to 350 homes as it addresses contaminated wells.

A month has passed since Morrow County commissioners declared a local state of emergency. Help has come from different directions, according to Commissioner Jim Doherty, and more assistance is expected.

The declaration was made on June 9 as the board of commissioners recognized high levels of nitrates in rural wells and decided the problem warranted action.

Car show enjoyed in Hermiston

The Cool Rides Car Show was Saturday, July 9, at Hermiston’s McKenzie Park. Classic autos, both old and new, nearly packed the park. It was the 26th annual event, which was organized by the Hermiston Classics Car Club.

Spudfest provides fun, too

Vendors lined Main Street in Hermiston for Spudfest 2022. The event, which took place Saturday, July 9, included food, music, games and more.
