A well-attended local event always warms my heart. Such was the case on Halloween, when people turned out for Treats on Main in Hermiston.

Hermiston Herald staff was part of the event, as Audra, Angel and Beau set up a table and handed out candy.

Beau took some photos, too. You can see the pictures online or in our latest print publication.

Fortunately, there were some other nice things for us to report.

HERMISTON FFA WINS BIG

The Hermiston FFA returned from Indianapolis, where students competed in a national contest. I interviewed the advisor and a few students as they stepped off a bus. They did very well, and the Hermiston Herald published a story on their successes.

HERMISTON CITY COUNCIL PLANS DEVELOPMENT

For those of us who live in the area, it’s no surprise that housing is an important issue. This being the case, it was good to see the City of Hermiston take action that could bring more homes into the area. We published a story on the Southwest Hermiston Urban Renewal Area and homes that are planned.
