Washington man dies in crash near Stanfield

PENDLETON — A crash Monday night, Dec. 19, on Interstate 84 near Stanfield claimed the life of a Washington man.
Oregon State Police reported the fatal wreck occurred near milepost 188 on the eastbound side of the freeway.
Chad Michael Flynn, 39, of Carnation, was driving a white 2000 Ford F-350 pickup when it lost traction, collided with a guardrail and rolled.
Flynn died at the scene, according to OSP, while a passenger Danielle King, 45, also of Carnation, suffered minor injuries and was given a courtesyw ride to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston, to wait for family.
State reported neither occupant appeared to be wearing seat belts.
The crash closed the road for approximately three-and-a-half hours during the preliminary investigation, OSP reported, and the crash remains under investigation.
Stanfield Police Department, Umatilla County Fire District No. 1, Echo Rural Fire Protection District and the Oregon Department of Transportation assisted at the scene
