I am writing to you today to discuss a topic that is very close to my heart: the importance of journalism. As the publisher of the Hermiston Herald, I believe it is crucial for our society to have access to quality journalism that is honest, unbiased, and informative.
Journalism is the cornerstone of democracy. It plays a vital role in providing the public with accurate and timely information about events and issues that affect their lives. It enables citizens to make informed decisions and hold those in power accountable for their actions.
At the Herald, we take our responsibility to provide accurate and unbiased reporting seriously. We believe that journalism should be free from any influence or agenda, and we strive to provide our readers with a balanced and fair perspective on the news. We believe that by doing so, we are helping to build a strong, informed, and engaged community.
Unfortunately, in recent years, the media has come under attack, with some questioning the credibility and value of journalism. We believe this is a dangerous trend that threatens the very foundation of our democracy. We must all work together to ensure that journalism remains strong and vibrant.
So, I encourage you to support your local newspaper and other sources of quality journalism. By subscribing to and reading newspapers like the Hermiston Herald, you are not only helping to support an important institution, but you are also helping to build a more informed and engaged community. In an age of information overload, it is more important than ever to have trusted sources of news and information.
Thank you for your continued support of the Hermiston Herald and quality journalism.
