Easter egg hunts hop into region

EASTERN OREGON — The Easter bunny is hopping along with fun
activities planned by cities, service clubs, fraternal organizations and churches throughout the region.
Here’s a roundup of area events. Unless otherwise noted, participation is free. Happy hunting!
Hermiston
Hermiston Parks and Recreation invites families to hop on down for the Easter Carnival from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Funland Playground, 735 N.W. Seventh St.
Activities include bounce houses, carnival games and family fun. Activity tickets are $1 each.
While you’re playing games at the carnival, the Easter bunny will be busy dumping thousands of eggs at Butte Park, 1245 N.W. Seventh St., in preparation for the annual Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt, which is sponsored by Rogers Toyota of Hermiston and starts at 8 p.m.
Kids 10 and under are invited to dash into the darkness to collect Easter eggs — bring a flashlight and a basket. An illuminated area will be available for younger children. Don’t be late or the eggs will be gone.

Boardman
The annual community Easter egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Boardman Marina Park, 1 Marine Drive. It’s open to children through age 12.
Also, kids can dive in during the Underwater Easter Egg Hunt from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Boardman Pool and Recreation Center, 311 N.E.
Olson Road.
It’s open to children 17 and under, with participants plunging in by age groups.
Pre-registration is required via bit.ly/3SYb0xP. The cost is $5 per person. Kids under the age of 7 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian (at no charge) in the water.

Irrigon
Get ready to find eggs with candy and special prizes as Irrigon Moose Lodge No. 2486 & Chapter 2144 hosts Easter fun for kids. The event begins at 8 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at 220 N.E. Third St.
And after that, hop on over for the Community Easter EGG-stravaganza coordinated by Family Worship Center.
Lots of fun is in store for infants and children during the event, starting at 11 a.m. at Irrigon Marina Park, 430 N.E. Eighth St.
Stanfield
Kids are invited to a free community Easter egg hunt coordinated by Stanfield Moose Lodge No. 920. The event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8, at Coe Park, on West Coe Avenue by the railroad tracks.
Members of the lodge have been busy dying dozens and dozens of eggs. In addition, they will hide plastic-filled eggs with special prizes.

Umatilla
Umatilla Parks & Recreation is shining a light on Easter with a Flashlight Egg Hunt. Participants need to bring their own baskets and flashlights.
The event begins at 7 p.m. Friday, April 7, at Umatilla Marina Park, 1710 Quincy Ave. It is open to ages 2-18 with designated areas for different age groups.
